Custom Landing Pages for Your Social Media Presence

February 2, 2009 by WebSuccessDiva

Internet marketers have been using custom landing pages (like with search engine marketing) for years. The concept is simple, you target your audience, you should customize the pages they land on for better conversions (optins, sales, etc). There really is no difference when planning your social media presence as well. While all social media sites you are present at, do not warrant a custom landing page — many do — for tracking and increasing your ability to know what’s really working in your social media marketing.

Custom landing pages for social media, seem to have hit mainstream, when Problogger highlighted the custom landing page technique he learned from @Pistachio for Twitter. I say, these pages need to go much farther and can actually be a critical point in your decision making as to whether certain social media sites are actually bringing the benefits you spend so much time to achieve. Especially in the case of the busy solopreneur and bloggers.

But, should you just throw up a landing page on your blog and leave it at that? What should go on that landing page? Is it different for every site or by audience? Should you make free offers, paid offers, or just introduce yourself?
